Highlights

  • Western Serbia's mountainous areas boast untouched nature, making them an increasingly popular destination for tourists. One of the region's symbols is the House on the Drina, located near Bajina Basta. The national park, Mountain Tara, is almost entirely forested, and its highest peak, Zboriste, reaches 1544m. For a unique experience, visitors can also explore Tara by train on the 15.5km narrow-gauge reconstructed railway line, Sargan Eight, which runs from Mokra Gora to Sargan Vitasi and back, offering breathtaking views of dense pine forests and unreal landscapes with stops at scenic stations. A 5-minute drive from Mokra Gora, the famous Ethno complex "Mecavnik - Drvengrad" awaits. The complex boasts a restaurant, cinema, church, market, library, and various streets with unique names related to foreign and domestic poets, directors, actors, athletes, and more. Within the complex, two restaurants serve traditionally prepared, delicious food, with the lower or larger one housing books and bottles that provide an unusual atmosphere.
