Subotica, nestled in the northernmost part of Serbia, captivates visitors with its charm and diversity. This city’s mixed population and rich cultural heritage are reflected in its elaborately adorned buildings, giving Subotica a multicultural spirit that sets it apart. Throughout its history, Subotica has seen various rulers and has changed its name multiple times. The current name was officially adopted in 1918, although it had been used by local Serbs since the 17th century. Nearby lies Lake Palić, covering an area of 4.6 square kilometers, a significant tourist attraction in Vojvodina. With numerous restaurants, cafés, sports facilities, three beaches, and a zoo, Lake Palić is an ideal spot for relaxation and recreation.

Our day trip begins at 08:00 from the parking lot in front of the Museum of Yugoslavia (May 25th Museum – House of Flowers). We travel north on the highway to our first destination, Kovilj Monastery. This monastery has been the most significant male monastery in the Bačka eparchy for the last twenty years and is among the most important in the Serbian Orthodox Church. It has been a spiritual nursery, producing several bishops of the SPC and preserving a rich historical, spiritual, and cultural tradition. The monastery’s long-serving abbot was the current Serbian Patriarch, Porfirije. After visiting the monastery, we continue our journey to Bačka Topola, near which lies the Zobnatica stud farm.Rajhl Palace visit bigtours
