History of the Vršac Tower – The Vršac Tower, a symbol not only of the city but also of the entire surrounding area, was built in 1439 and is believed to have been built by Đurađ Smederevac after the fall of the Smederovs with the aim of protecting his possessions in the territory of today’s Vojvodina. The best-preserved of the entire fortification is the Donjon tower, 20m high, which has been completely restored today.
